You should seriously consider getting a prepaid debit credit card for your kids. (...)

You should seriously consider getting a prepaid debit credit card for your kids.

Kids are getting smarter at a younger age these days and of course, learning how to spend money too. Parents will be very anxious to know how their kids spend their money and who their friends are. It can be very tiring. The main topic between the parents and the kids will usually be about money. And it is not going to be pleasant. So why not consider getting them a prepaid credit card. These are a tool almost any family can benefit from.

When most of us think of credit cards we think of adults in a stable job who can maintain their payments. The type of card that is suitable for a teen is very different. Credit cards for kids are actually pre-paid and that means that the kid can only spend only as much as is put on the card by the parent. If the child has a monthly allowance, the parent can then add the amount of the allowance to the card once a month and the child then uses it until the balance is at zero. Most of the prepaid credit cards for children are either a Visa or a MasterCard and can actually be used everywhere a traditional credit card is used, including online for music downloads and to buy items.

One of the benefits of this type of financial arrangement for a child is that it introduces them to the idea of balancing their budget. Since they can only use the amount that is designated to the card, they’ll quickly discover that overspending isn’t a good thing. Children with prepaid debit cards tend to be more frugal with their money than those carrying cash in their pocket.

Parents naturally are going to want to get an inside look at what their child is doing with the card. This can be done online from any computer with Internet access or in many cases over the phone as well. The parent funding the prepaid credit cards for their child can add to the balance online with a transfer from their own bank account or credit card. They also can view up to the minute updates of what their child is spending his or her money on.

Although this type of card isn’t going to help to build the child’s credit history, it is a good introduction to the world of credit for the kid. Prepaid credit cards for children aren’t subject to credit rating so your child won’t damage their future credit standing or your own credit standing in any way at all. Instead the card teaches them the value of every dollar which is an important lesson that everyone needs in life.

Ah, the college years! This is that time in life where you get to finally break loose and be your own person. No more living under your parent's roof and obeying their strict rules. Suddenly you're out living on your own and attending a massive school that takes up most of your time. So, how do you plan on investing money while in college? Consider the basic expenses you'll have whether you like it or not. There's generally rent, tuition, text books, food, and anything else you have to spend on living. Naturally you can get rid of the rent bill by living at home with the folks while attending a university. This would in fact help you with the process of investing money while in college.

There's no doubt that most people do not think about investing money while in college. This is the time when all you can think about is getting your work done, doing well on exams and midterms, and having some good old-fashioned fun as a young adult. Sound about right? However, if you can manage to invest a little money while in college, you will be way ahead of the game. In reality, most individuals wait until they're out of school before they start investing capital. The truth is folks tend to invest after the age of thirty. Some even put it off longer. Obviously this means that they won't have as much money saved for the future.

Where to begin? One way to start investing money while in college is through stocks or bonds. These are good investments since they naturally increase over time. Purchase some stocks now when you have the extra cash and just let them grow. A second way you can invest money while in college is in a simple savings account. Let the cash sit there and collect interest as the college years go by. This is probably the most common route people take. Keep in mind that there are endless ways to invest money for your future. The trick is not spending it on material things when you're feeling anxious or tempted in a store. Proper investing takes patience and will power.

For decades now, people have been searching for cleaner alternatives to today's methods of transportation. (...)

For decades now, people have been searching for cleaner alternatives to today's methods of transportation. Air powered cars which is zero pollution motors are just the newest idea to hit the market, but they seem promising. Previous ideas have failed to completely deliver on the idea of clean fuel. Hybrid engines are a good start, but they still involve internal combustion which pollutes the air. Electric cars are an even better idea, but they have run into some serious technical problems. Batteries are heavy and expensive, and the cars tend to not have a very good range or enough acceleration. Additionally, many of electric batteries pose serious problems when they have to be disposed of. Even hydrogen cars haven't proven viable so far – although they still may yet.

Air powered cars are the newest ideal and, to all appearances, the most promising. An air powered car is just what it sounds like. It is a car driven by compressed air. This might sound silly to people, but air powered toy cars have been around for a long time, so the principal has existed in theory. Trying to put it into practice is, of course, more difficult, but not as difficult as you might think. Air is extremely compressible, and a lot of energy can be stored in a relatively small area.

Best of all, air powered cars don't need to be heavy like battery powered cars do. Even highly compressed oxygen weighs very little, so an air powered car does not have to be significantly heavier than an internal combustion one. Best of all, they seem to be able to offer comparable performance. Many of them can go 500 miles without needing a recharge at speeds of up to 90 miles an hour. Not too shabby for a car that runs entirely on compressed air.

Of course air powered cars are a new technology, and the technology has not yet been perfected. One of the issues with air powered cars has to do with power boost. The first generation will probably have a small gasoline engine to generate extra boost during acceleration in the city. Eventually, however, they may get good enough so that this requirement drops out altogether. Someday, we may literally be able to run our cars on air alone. It may seem like a distant dream now, but it is possible. I for one hope that it comes sooner rather than later. After all, who knows how long the environment can afford to wait.

Alternatively, water powered car is also another form of clean energy car which you can consider

.

As the owner of an electronics store specializing in audio equipment, I get asked all the time what the best computer speakers are. People are often surprised at my reply. (...)

As the owner of an electronics store specializing in audio equipment, I get asked all the time what the best computer speakers are. People are often surprised at my reply. I succeed in my business by trying to give honest answers and not automatically directing people to the most high-tech and sophisticated audio there is. As an honest salesman, I have to say there is no simple answer.

If you are an ordinary user, the best computer speakers for you might just be the ones your computer came with. Most laptops come with computer speakers that have a pretty high level of fidelity. What they don't have, however, is much bass. If you are only using your speakers for casually putting music on in the background, a little bit of gaming, or voice over IP, what you have is probably just about perfect. If you want a little bit more body, you can add a woofer to fill out the sound a little bit, but there's no need to spend a lot of money on a sophisticated audio setup.

Then again, different people have different tastes. In gamer magazines, the best multimedia computer speakers reviews consistently go to speakers with a lot of bass. It seems that gamers really like low-end power – no doubt to stimulate the sonic jar of explosions hitting nearby, or the growl of monsters in some underground dungeon. If you find big bass to be thrilling, by all means go out to your local audio store and invest in some bass. Don't make the mistake that most people do, however, of assuming that more powerful speakers are necessarily better. Having too much bass without enough mid and high range can actually distort the sound of music.

Of course, if you are a serious music listener, the way to find the best computer speakers Is to look them up in consumer reports. You can spend as much as you want on high quality audio components, and you are generally rewarded for the money you invest. Nonetheless, even if it is supposed to be the best computer speaker out there, don't buy it without listening to it first. Some speakers, for example, have too warm a sound for some users. Others feel a little bit tinny. Different audio speakers are geared towards different listeners, so there really is no one best choice. The best computer speakers, like the best music, is a matter of opinion.

Balance transfer credit cards can help save a bad situation - though no on likes to use it.

No one likes debt! It really is that plain and simple. Unfortunately many individuals become afflicted with debt at some point or another in their lives. In fact, most of us do! While getting upset and frustrated about it won't solve anything, balance transfer credit cards just might. You see, when you finally realize that you're in a substantial amount of dept and your interest rates are awful, it's time to begin seeking out alternatives. Maybe you need to consolidate your debt or check into balance transfer credit cards with low APRs. Either way, there are options out there to assist you with your dept problems.

Credit cards are funny little things. We all end up applying for at least one at some point or another. In the beginning the interest rates are low and the credit card offer looks appealing. Well, this sadly doesn't last long. Suddenly the credit card is maxed out and the APR has skyrocketed from 8 percent to 20 percent. That's never a good thing. Fortunately there are balance transfer credit cards available also. Many of these offer you a new card with a decent percentage rate and 0 percent interest for the first year on balance transfers. These are the credit cards you should consider taking full advantage of. This way if you currently owe 10,000 dollars on one credit card, you can apply for the balance transfer credit card with no interest and have that 10 grand transferred to the new card. For an entire year you won't have to pay anything on interest. If you sit down and calculate it out, that is a great deal of money saved. Especially if your past APR was close to 20 percent.

Although credit card companies can be a pain, it's crucial to keep an eye out for the balance transfer credit cards that have a starting zero APR or extremely low annual percentage rate for the first year? Now, I know what some folks may be thinking. What if the no interest balance transfer credit card goes up after one year. This very well could happen, but that just means you can switch to another credit card is they choose to do so. Often letting them know that this is your plan will cause them to lower the APR.

One appetizer stands out as a must-have old standby and crowd pleaser, no matter what the occasion. (...)

One appetizer stands out as a must-have old standby and crowd pleaser, no matter what the occasion. It's equally at home on a silver platter or displayed at a buffet table on a nice ceramic plate. Birthdays, holiday meals and summer backyard pool parties are all enhanced with deviled eggs. These delicious treats are usually one of the first consumed. Any experienced host can tell you, you'll want to have another plateful in the frig to bring out when the first plateful is gone.

Deviled eggs are perhaps the quintessential hors d'oeuvre. Many hold the opinion that if you don't like deviled eggs, there's something wrong with you, unless you're allergic to eggs!

This delectable appetizer requires careful preparation and attention to detail to avoid a rather messy result. The successful deviled egg is as pretty to look at as it is delightful to eat. Here's a step-by-step instruction sheet to make sure yours are just perfect.

The eggs you use are important. Extra-large eggs are preferred, for a generous presentation of your deviled eggs. Use eggs with an expiration date as close as possible to the day you cook them. Older eggs don't crack as easily and peel without pulling chunks of the egg with the shell.

Gently place the eggs in the pan and add enough water to completely cover the eggs. Salt the water and add a couple of teaspoons of apple-cider vinegar. Allow the eggs to reach room temperature, about 15 minutes. Turn the heat on medium until they start to simmer. Do not let them come to a boil. Simmer for 15-20 minutes. Remove from the heat and place the eggs, still in the pan, in the sink. Run cold water over the eggs for several minutes until they are just warm to the touch. Allow to cool thoroughly, adding more cold water if needed.

To peel the eggs, gently crack on a hard surface, just enough to give you a place to grab the shell. They should peel nicely. Have your platter and a bowl to hold the yolks ready. Use your cutting board to cut each egg in half lengthwise. The yolk will pop out easily. Repeat until all are done.

Now for the fun part. Mash the yolks with a fork, but not so forcefully that the egg toughens. You want them nice and fluffy. Add enough mayonnaise to make a creamy texture. Some cooks like to add some very finely diced onion to the mixture at this point, but that's according to your preference. Using two teaspoons, fill each egg half with the yolk mixture. Sprinkle a fine dusting of sweet paprika over the eggs. Garnish the sides of the platter with sprigs of fresh parsley or snipped chives.

So there you have it. Perfect deviled eggs. Just leave plenty for your guests!

In this day and age, computer animation is everything. Many animated movies nowadays are made without any hand-drawn animation at all, and almost no movies use exclusively hand-drawn animation. (...)

In this day and age, computer animation is everything. Many animated movies nowadays are made without any hand-drawn animation at all, and almost no movies use exclusively hand-drawn animation. Computer animation does have a lot of advantages over more traditional methods. It is quicker, it is great for modeling three-dimensional objects, and it has a vibrant and rambunctious character that a lot of children like.

Nonetheless, it is good to see that older forms are still in use. In particular, I have always been a fan of stop motion animation. Clay animation is probably my favorite style, but I like anything that is done in stop motion. The show Robot Chicken, the early episodes of South Park, and the experimental Animation that is so frequently shown in festivals all over the world thrill me to no end.

Clay animation, or claymation as it is sometimes known, has a certain whimsical quality that is not easy to duplicate. It can be three-dimensional without looking synthetic, and realistic while obviously made out of clay. Techniques used in puppetry and filmmaking can be combined with an animator's tricks to make something that is more than the sum of its parts. Clay animation objects can morph into each other, eat each other, or slowly dissolve into the background with a plausibility that is hard to match.

One of the great things about clay animation is that anyone can get into it. People make a lot of noise about the ease-of-use of Flash animation, but clay animation is only slightly more difficult. It takes forever – don't be deceived on that point – but the process is pretty simple. All you need is a camera capable of taking one frame at a time and some modeling clay. Today's digital cameras mean that you do not even have to burn film on your first project. You can start off with something simple and build up to more complex projects without worrying about wasting film.

Clay animators all have their own tricks, and the field is definitely not unified. Many Clay animations stick to modeling clay, but others incorporate nuts and bolts, found objects, or even food or animal parts. Some of them can actually be pretty disturbing for kids, so you shouldn't assume that just because something is animated means that your children can watch it. Still, whether you end up liking it or not, you'll probably find it interesting.

I remember listening to the church bells when I was growing up. I was a pretty lonely kid without a lot of friends. (...)

I remember listening to the church bells when I was growing up. I was a pretty lonely kid without a lot of friends. I remember sitting in my room for hours at a time, reading, staring out the window, or doing puzzles while other kids played outside. The church bells were my only connection to the outdoors during those long summer afternoons, and the ringing would come to me from all over the city.

I lived in a multidenominational town, so there was at least one church tower with bells every half a mile. All of these carillon church bells together created a powerful feeling on Sundays. Sometimes, you would hear every church bell in the city chiming at once, creating a crazy cacophony that was awe inspiring, but dissonant. Other times, when the wind would be blowing in one direction at a moderate pace, you would only hear the tune from one or two churches. The church tower with bells to the east was particularly loud, and when the atmospheric conditions were just right it was the only thing you could hear at the noontime hour.

I have been a musician for most of my life, but I never really thought about the sound of churchbells until I actually got to take a look at one of the carillon systems close up. It was actually a very modern one, completely computer-controlled and attached to a keyboard that would automatically ring the church bells in the preprogrammed sequence. To tell you the truth, no one even needed to attend to it. It even had its own backup power supply so, if the electricity went off, the church bells could still ring out.

Listening to this up close was awe-inspiring. I knew that a church bell was loud, but I had never heard how loud it could be from inside the bell tower. The sound is absolutely deafening and profound. It rang for much longer than I had thought it would. Although the sound died out enough to not be audible outside after about 20 seconds, the church bell tower would be alive with the after tone of the bells for several minutes afterwards. It was this slow, meditative die-off that inspired me to put my own hand bells in my music. Although they can not capture the full power of church bells, they can be used to give a taste of the profound, lingering feel they have.

My family loves playing Parker Brothers game. When I was growing up watching television was very different than it is now. We lived out in the country and had an antenna on the roof to get reception. We were able to get the three network stations as well as one local station. There were family shows on during prime time and after the late news most of the stations went off the air. We enjoyed watching television; however there was not the variety of things to watch like there is today.

My family liked playing board games as well as card games. More often than not we listened to music and played a parker brothers game. We had quite an assortment of board games. My sister and I loved to play the parker brothers game of monopoly. Because the game takes a while to play we often left the board sitting out on the formal dining room table. We would set everything up and then play for several evenings in a row. My mother would get upset that there were all the game pieces and monopoly money laying around.

My sister and I are much older now. We have raised our own families and try to spend as much time together as we can. Our recreation time now is spent in the area casinos. One of our favorite slot machines to play is monopoly. We had to laugh the first time we was it. Many of the parker brothers games have been turned into slot games. I think there is a great deal of people in our generation who enjoyed playing the various board games as children. The fun part with playing at the casino is that you have the chance to win real money if the game is going your way.

My children like to play games also. This is something that we encouraged them to do as children. Playing games teaches children many things such as counting, fairness, taking turns and how to win and lose gracefully. It is also interaction time rather than sitting in front of a television set letting someone else entertain you. Now that my children are grown and married they go to each other’s homes and play board games. I am very pleased that they are staying in touch with each other the same way I stay in touch with my sister. I think that having the time together as children helped us to become good friends. We have talked about getting together with our husbands and playing a game of monopoly.
